M.G.BOULTER & Samantha Whates

M.G.Boulter, described as a “weapons grade singer songwriter”, creates vignettes of suburban lives and wonderful seaside communities and their characters. His albums have featured in the end of year Top Ten lists for multiple publications. He’s also an in demand session player and has been a member of American bands The Simon Felice Group (The Felice Brothers) and the Duke and The King.

Scottish singer songwriter Samantha Whates is a highly respected figure on the English and Scottish folk scenes. She’s released several albums and can regularly be heard on Radio 2 and BBC Radio 6. Her beautifully crafted, observational songs retain an affinity with her Scottish roots cultivating a sound that is contemporary, rooted in tradition but uniquely her own. She’s also noted for her fluid, fingerpicked guitar style.

Both are respected and critically acclaimed singer songwriters in their own right but they’ve also been infrequently collaborating since 2014. Their third, and latest project, Flower Days, is a concise concept album exploring the enduring role of flowers as carriers of human meaning from devotion to grief, celebration to remembrance. It’s an album full of joy and the love of nature and life.
