John Otway & Wild Willy Barrett

After their acrimonious split in 1973 Willy spent many years successfully avoiding Otway but he was cajoled into an abortive reunion in 1987. That lasted long enough to record just a small part of an album before they parted again. Since then they’ve regrouped and fallen out too many times to count, one reunion tour was even titled “The Incompatible Otway and Barrett”. So here we are, well over 50 years after the first hit, older but no wiser, the mismatched, dynamic duo are still going strong with an amazing and totally irreverent show performed by these two master entertainers. Willy’s still horrified at what all this does to his reputation as an outstanding musician and Otway…well, Otway is Otway, the irrepressible, ingenious, unpredictable, inconsistent, reckless, totally loveable nutter from Aylesbury. Audiences should be be prepared for, perhaps, a wah wah wheelie bin, bare chested theremin playing and plenty of madcap chaos. And, of course, some great music. Let’s hope they don’t fall out.
